YM opened its doors in 2003 as yummy mummys, a salon or one stop “glamvenient” shop for all hair and beauty needs with a crèche and all in the one location.

The idea was borne out of experience; both of us were new mums as well as being passionate consumers of hair and beauty treatments and products.  The reality of trying to balance a baby whilst having legs waxed proved to be the catalyst of this concept salon!

We fell in love with a large corner terrace in Elizabeth Street, Paddington away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street which meant not only could our clients valet park their prams, they could easily park their cars!  The terrace had mass appeal as it allowed us to create separate areas for our hair, treatment rooms, the crèche and a intimate manicure and pedicure parlour.

Over the years our clientele has evolved, not only do we welcome “yummy mummies” but a diverse group of clients so in 2008 we decided to have a small name change to YM as well as updating the salon.

Our passion and focus has remained constant; service and innovation is what excites us and we pride ourselves on our personal service as well as searching out the latest in hair and skin care.
